The Original Campaign

Sir Corwin "Demonslayer", Knight Commander of Allaveer (Geoff)

Elf (was human - elf), Male, Ranger (reincarnated once)

Famed not only for his ability at slaying demons, undead and other monsters he was framed for the murder of a Knight of the Green Lady in 1154.  However, despite having been arrested by the Inquisition he was proved innocent and freed by the works of his companions in White Company.

He took on the mighty greater demon Ka'esh in his own realm and almost beat him but for an accident with a trapdoor which denied him victory.

Promoted to  Knight Commander of Allaveer and master of Duke Randall who was his squire.  The number of times he has saved the party is legendary.   Since losing a duel with Vlen Vlice, Corwin has been reincarnated by Silanus as an elf, which casts doubt on his position as Knight Commander.

Treasure hog. Somehow every magic item seems to fit him best or to compensate for his weaknesses more than anyone else's. As such he glows like a Christmas tree whenever Detect Magic  is cast.

Count Kael of Barrander (Jake)

Half-Elf, Male, Ranger

Kael is a half-elf ranger of Issiad.   Kael was "found" by a woodsman as a baby in the forests somewhere south of Kursaval.   At an early age (approximately 12) his guardian died and he travelled the woods on his own, keeping away from civilisation.   He eventually met-up with Corwin, and travelled with him for a couple of years before meeting the rest of the party.  Kael came to the attention of the nobility at the tournament at Vern, where he was chosen to fight as Duchess Jekya's champion.   Kael has performed many services for Kursaval, and was knighted by King Alexandr XIV.  He was named by Count Svalrik of Barrander as his heir.  Count Svalrik died in the siege of Lanmere, and Kael was challenged by Rossenfur to his right to Barrander.  Ever unassuming, Kael was prepared to give up the claim.  When he died in the temple of Baephius, he was resurrected by Aeson and sent to Blakmar where he was trapped for five years.  On his release, Kael joined Queen Tullia in the Gruskan mountains and fought against Aragorn's forces in 1161.  Kael was then awarded the Countship of Barrander.  He loathes elves as they obviously abandoned him, takes pity on humans as they always run around in circles, and likes dwarves for their sense of purpose and he always knows where he stands with them.  All he wants is a quiet life and one day soon he may disappear back into the woods to focus on the balance of nature.

Lady Brangwen Bladesworn, Knight Commander, Queen's Champion (Claire)

Human, Female, Fighter

A strong fighter, Bran was disguised as a boy and on the run from her affianced and her future as a lady, when she signed on as squire to Sir Kael.  Sold out by Whiteflight just before the siege of Lanmere, she managed to talk her way out of the wedding.  After release in 1160, Brangwen joined the rebel forces of Queen Tulia, where she was knighted.  She was made Knight Commander and Queen's Champion in 1161.  Brangwen purchased two griffin eggs from Janil.  As of 1166, the knights of Kursaval number nineteen.  Bran really doesn't get along with Duke Randall.

Kurngrim (Claire)

Human, Female, Berserker.

A berserker.  With PMT.  Kurngrim never actually killed any party members, but this was mainly due to the rest of the world holding her back.  With an intelligence of 7, a personal vendetta against Aragorn, bloodlust and the ability to turn into a bear or wolf, Kurngrim was a powerful force for good.   She's now quit the army, and gone home to Shaytan to be a farmer.  She was offered both Countess and Army General, but was honest enough to know the thinking part would just be too hard.  Kurngrim owns a Mace of Disruption.

Hit Pilus Prior Rattian so her bounty rose to 2,500 gold rilk.

Guild Master Silanus (Tim)

Elf, Male, Wizard

Silanus has this to say:

"I was recently asked by a dear friend to lay out some of the facts of my life so that she could record them for posterity.  And indeed, what with some of the tragedies and evils that have befallen our fair world in these last several years, it seems wise to make such plans, for our time is short, even for us elves, and our lives but sparks among the darkness, as easily snuffed as a candle.
I am Silanus Shadonai, elven mage and formerly of Earl Ralian's court.  I have travelled much of Hurssia and have striven in the high struggles of our age, but my roots are humble, my parents servants in the palace of the elven court.  It is there that I watched the nobles and their intrigues, and so came to some understanding of the intricacies of human nature, and the mask of order and etiquette that we place upon them.
I was fortunate later in life to adventure with an eclectic bunch of individuals, all heroes in their own way though some strove not to be.  Skarra, a fellow elf and a follower of nature's way, I particularly miss and to see him again someday would be wonderful.
There is more yet to write of my life, but I shall end this now and take up my pen some other time.  You who eventually read this, know that though all seems dark at times, there shall always be a light, even if it is only you.
"

Silanus is master of the Grey School in  Y'goth, and is busy rebuilding the School.  He has a Demonic Familiar of Insignious who takes the shape of an owl.  He's currently concerned about the renegade group of wizards he has heard about.

ArchBishop Cryssania (Indran)

Human (was human - gnome - human), Female, Priest of Tarrak

Unfortunately Cryssania was resurrected as a (male) gnome during the fight against Aragorn, preventing her from ever reaching the heady heights of ArchBishop.  A powerful spell caster, Cryssania escaped death on not very many occasions, becoming the second most resurrected character of the campaign.  After successfully completing her quest and freeing Jen, Tarrak rewarded her by transforming her back into a female human. Cryssania is now ArchBishop, and Guildmaster of the Abbey of Tarrak.

She was High Priest of a church with only one priest, such was the combined success of The Green Lady and Aragorn's persecution of Tarrak's faith. She convinced Igelkordok and Florimel to worship Tarrak to help restore his failing powers.

Florimel d. (Ian)

Human, Male, Wizard

This mage was picked out to aid Sir Kael in his rescue attempt of Whiteflight and the Sheriff of Shatan.  Count Svalik ordered the rescue of the two who had been tied to the front of battering rams by the Barbarians of the White Forest who were laying siege to Lanmere.

Florimel had already cast a Magic Missile at King Otluk of the White Forest during early stages of the siege, bringing him somewhat dubiously to the Count's attention.

In a rescue party along with Sir Corwin and Brangwen he was confronted by a large snow leopard mounted by King Otluk.  Casting a Continual Light spell on the beast he distracted the King and nearby Barbarian raiders, scouts and troops.

The King struck out at Florimel but succeeded only in killing his mount.  Meanwhile Sir Corwin was able to release Whiteflight and escape.  The group fled, Florimel was pursued by King Otluk who claimed the kill for himself, thus holding off the nearby barbarian troops and special forces groups. Florimel managed to lure the King within archer range at the city walls where he was hit repeatedly, but fled only when a small group of paladins ran out to charge him Florimel was greatly injured in this endeavour but gained lasting respect.

When the attack on the city commenced King Otluk returned on a new mount and leaping the city walls he fought Count Svalrik on the battlements.  King Otluk slew Count Svalrik, but was himself slain by the great mage Florimel, who felled him with most fearsome Lightning Bolts.  With the death of their leader and so many of their number fallen the Barbarians withdrew. Florimel was honoured by the city for his actions.

Thereafter he was assigned to White Company to escort the Count's body to Barrander where, attacked by lesser demons of Mallus he stood bravely against them.

Later still as White Company investigated the Tomb of Bapheus Florimel came close to death fighting Bacun and the shadows which he had created.  So far, in everything he has done he had proved himself adept, noble and without doubt a good companion.

His death was reported after having been slain by bandits whilst travelling to the Dwarven Halls. This proved to be a falsehood to cover his recruitment into a special task force set up by the group comprising of King Alexsander XVII of Kursaval, Count Yimuradict, Count Theranoth, and Aeson.  Along with the rest of the party a new adventuring party was created, the covert special operations group: Strange Company.

He travelled to Blackmar with the group in search of Greycloak a Kursavalian spy.  Sadly he endured 5 years as a statue after a failed attempt to attack the Red Palace forced him to encounter the glare of a basilisk.

With a penchant for making things go boom, Florimel was an asset to the party.  Except for the time he read the mind of a demon of Mallus and went cuckoo, of course.  He eventually died with a level of stupidity rarely reached even by Kurngrim -on the final day of the War against Aragorn. Having sneaked into the palace for the final attack, making careful note to get past the powerful anti-magic barrier, on the way out, Florimel tried to fly Invisibly.  On this occasion, he went boom, and was then trampled on by hordes of panicking soldiers, leaving an invisible pile of dust.

Initiate Skarra  (Neil)

Elf, Male, Druid (resurrected)

An elven druid, Skarra gradually learnt to get over his hatred of humans, even on occasion healing fellow party members.   Skarra was resurrected against his express wishes by his half-elf son, Skarrin, whom he had rejected since birth, even to the point of wanting to hunt him down and kill him. This eased once he met his son, though the two fell out again and Skarrin deliberately resurrected his father against his wishes just to annoy him.

Skarra is originally an inhabitant of Aloth Atoll, where he resides when not visiting Hurssia for deep and complex reasons of his own.

Whiteflight, the Gay Blade  (with apologies to Adam Ward) (Malcolm)
a.k.a.
Kalos, the dwarf
Larenthug, King of the Goblins
Goblin (goblin - human - dwarf - were-bear - goblin), Male, Bard (Cha 22)
Killed at birth, the dead goblin baby was found and reincarnated by Aeson, a dragon mage/monk who raised him as his own son.
Then he was reincarnated again, and again and again.  He's been a goblin (from birth) then a human for most of his life, a dwarf, a were-bear and finally (we think) a goblin again, this time as their ruler, King Larenthug.  Blessed (cursed...) after reading a magical book he is a being of peace and love, which is awkward for the goblins and leads to quite a lot of internal strife.  Finally his body reflects the mindset he's been demonstrating for these past few years.
Whiteflight became a bard, his adventures beginning after having run up a large bar bill in celebration of his rebirthday.  This character sold out (and sold) many of his fellow party members for his own personal gain, and for a long period was the longest surviving party member until he was tragically killed in a drunken bar brawl.

Agent of Chaos, follower of the god of luck, chance and romance. Whiteflight was a bard. A star bard and something that sounds like both of those words mixed together. Like a leaf blowing on the wind he was fortune's fool, entertaining Griss so much that even Death could not stop him; a body was just a vessel and if you broke it you didn't buy it, you snuck out and pretended someone else did it and then came back in a clever disguise to loot the corpse.  Not ever character has their own motto but Whiteflight's is one you can live by: It's easier to get forgiveness than permission.

Aspen Darkfire d. (Chris)

Human, Female (was male), Fighter/Thief

A staunch fighter and member of the party, it was thanks to Aspen that the original party members were rescued.   Aspen suffered slightly in the knowing what sex he was - at his death he was a female, polymorphed into a male, though he was born male, so even his closest companions were never quite sure. He had served as squire to Sir Corwin.

Darian (Chris)

Elf, Male, Fighter/Rogue

Worked as a translator for Sir Corwin, accompanying him to the Dwarven Birthrite ceremony in 1166. Dex 19.

Igelkordoch Aischros  d. 1160 (Malcolm)

Human, Male, Fighter-Mage

Iggy grew up in Turse as the son of Orthandolas, Leader of the Tursen Resistance.  He left Turse to go adventuring, and during his adventures met Randall, was polymorped into a goat, and sired Prince Corwin Jr.  It doesn't matter what else he achieved in life, this is the deed he will be remembered for.  Igelkordoch died in 1160 in a brave attempt to rescue Sir Corwin and Randall as they were held prisoner under Aragorn's guards, not realising they were perfectly capable of freeing themselves. Sadly he misjudged a Teleport spell and ended up embedded in some rock.

Sir Hilary Botolph-Yip (Malcolm)

Human, Male, Paladin. Dead

Misinterpreted the magical advice he was given that the enemy were amassing at the gate. What is meant was - that's really dangerous we should go another way. Sir Hilary assumed it was his job to run and charge at all of the archers. He died.

Duke Randall (Marc)

Human, Male (once female goat), Bard

A bard with a mighty fireball but an even mightier yellow streak.  He once dated the Duchess Silana (before her identity was revealed) but abandoned her, only to give birth himself to King Getyphin's grandson by becoming pregnant to the lady's brother. Magic, instinct and depravity led to him becoming pregnant in goat-form and, later while human, giving birth to the heir to the throne of West Turse.  As well as the unfortunate 'goat' incident, Randall is also noteworthy for having to be the only bard in history to learn the sword, as he is liable to fall unconscious within minutes after having re-memorised his spells.  We should also mention the time Randall defended Silana's honour (wrongly!) and fought a duel with Sir Ketterin, only narrowly losing.  Though he still lost.

Possessed a Spell Notebook, Reward for capture (to Aragorn's forces) was 500 gold rilk.

Earl Skarrin (Neil)

Half-El,f Male, Druid

Skarrin, a half elf, is the son of Skarra and Elia, a human woman, long dead.  Hated by his father since birth, Skarrin has never been able to get over this, culminating in resurrecting Skarra against his express wishes, in 1166.  Skarrin has risen to power within the Shirewood quickly, becoming Chief Druid and ruler in 1161.

Radigund (Buff)

Elf, Female, Fighter/Rogue

Radigund managed to survive the entire time she was adventuring without getting hurt.   Some would call this cowardice, others intelligence.  By far the richest of the party, Radigund kept her belongings very close, especially one specific ruby, whose whereabouts everyone was afraid to ask...  Radigund was told by a seer that her life was directed by a steel serpent.

She is heroine to the Gnomes of Gon'Wrath Moors, whom she made very wealthy (because she couldn't carry all of the loot from the black dragon's horde).

Possessed a â€‹Cloak of Invisibility and a Magical Dagger.

Ambassador Bhumibol Carline (Malcolm)

Hobbit, Male, ?

Ambassador for the Sheriffs of the Shires, Bhumibol is Chief Diplomat, democrat and pursuer of truth, justice, and ham sandwiches.   Sent to Lanmere (or wherever) to promote the unification of Hurssia and the ideal of the hobbit people, that is, disposing of an archaic system of monarchic repression and establishing a fairer state of peaceful and duly elected people's representatives (whom, for arguments sake we could call Sheriffs...) Bhumibol also has a great hatred of magic, from Aragorn's treatment of his family.   This attitude may be reflected in many commoners - especially towards necromancy.

Nero d. 1160 (Chris)

Human, Male, Priest of Griss/Mage

Nero was a priest of Griss, the god of chance.  Good at gambling, and all other such priestly activities he dumped Kurngrim cruelly by leaving in the middle of the night.  Captured during first attempted ambush of Rattian (19th Longday 1156) by Rattian and troops.  Rescued the following day by companions and saved from death by unknown agent (presumably protection of Griss) Nero retired, a rarity in this company.

He had possessed a magical spell notebook. At one point the reward for his capture was 1000 gold rilk, put up by Rattian.

Jyla (forgotten)

Jessica (Neil)

Half-Elf, Female, Fighter

19, red head, fighter, and Sebrian's wife. She also escaped from Ravenloft through a portal, and is now trying to find him.

Taekmar d. 1160 (Buff?)

Human, Female, Thief

After introducing herself to the party with the immortal words 'I'm a thief' she never did have much chance. Taek travelled to Blakmar where her head was cut off because she told the truth under questioning about The Magic Omelette experience. Her head was thrown into Randall and Iggy's cell, where their long slide of depravity began.

Radathal (Ian)

Dwarf, Male, Fighter

One of the few party members to successfully retire. A crossbow addict from the Kallergan Highlanders.

At one point the reward for his capture was 250 gold rilk, put up by Rattian.

B'Elanna d. 1154 (Indran)

Human ,Female, Priest of Insignious

B'Elanna was a pyromaniac. She met her timely demise at the hands of the Green lady's Green Dragons, on the Isle of Kilios.

Human, Male, Priest of Issiad

Loketus was a priest of Issiad, who was killed by a fire demon in Ravenloft.

Zelda d. 1154 (Indran)

Human, Male, Priest of Tarrak

Zelda died in the Goblin caves.  This was probably due to a bad combination of Sillanus, Skarra, Whitefight, and Zelda herself.

Voth (Chris)

Human, Male, Fighter. Dead

Illianar (Chris)

Koijan (Chris)

Human, Male, Cleric. Dead

Gunthor (Chris)

Dwarf, Male, Fighter/Cleric. Dead

Ragnor (Chris)

Human, Male, Fighter. Retired

Ex-mercenary, turned Blacksmith.  Has come out of retirement to aid the Strange Company (PCs working with bandits in the Kavil Forest).  Hates Aragorn though also appears to dislike all nobility, anyone pretentious or with a title.  Oldest human member at 38 years old, introduced to the party by Jeshmare, another blacksmith in the employ of Duke Torman.

Actually still alive! I think Chris tired of this character though it's possible (See above) that he really likes character gen.

The Wizards' Campaign

Elrood (Marc)
Gnome, Male, Priest of Griss/Illusionist

He is currently travelling the world - at the moment he is with his friend Serebok, studying under Sefaran the Weaver.  Elrood is cursed - his blood has turned black, and it looks like he is covered in spider webs.  This is an unfortunate side effect of getting drunk on some magical potions - though it did save his life escaping from the Puzzle Box Trap.  If Elrood converts 100 people to Griss, Griss will remove the curse.

Elrood is also being threatened with regards to a firestick (a firearm taken from Chronomancers) he found.  He must destroy the firestick or his family will be killed.

Serebok (Geoff)
Human, Male, Angakok

Serebok is also not originaly Ukrallish - he comes from the Ardinian empire where he was a wise man.  After his initial escape from slavery, Serebok was recaptured.  He was bought out of slavery by Sebrian, with Drake's money.  After studying with Seferan for a short while, Serebok too was imprisoned in the Puzzle Box Trap.  With Elrood he accidentally escaped. Serebok is cursed and transmits diseases by touch. The Angagkok is a `primitive` wizard.

Sebrian (undead 1166) (Neil)

Vampire (was human), Male, Necromancer

A drunkard old, mage. Very old. Very drunk. And more than slightly dodgy. Like, connections to Ravenloft dodgy.  After committing numerous evil acts, Sebrian made a deal with Mallus in the Puzzle Box Trap, and became a vampire.  He then decimated most of the party.  Apparently married to Jessica.

Thorin (undead 1166) (Claire)

Vampire (was a dwarf), Male, Wizard

Originally from Lanmir, in Kursaval, Thorin is the first dwarven mage. He studied with Sefaran the Weaver, as no other Guild would teach him.  Thorin was imprisoned in the Puzzle Box Trap - there he was turned into a vampire by Sebrian, and transported to Ravenloft.

Edward (undead 1166) (Chris)

Vampire (was human), Male, Illusionist

Edward was studying with Sefaran in his home town of Torinfal.  He was imprisoned in the Puzzle Box Trap - there he was turned into a vampire by Sebrian, and transported to Ravenloft.

Delator (undead 1166) (Malcolm)
Vampire (was human), Female, Diviner

Delator joined Serafan's secret school of wizardry and suffered terribly for it. Elrood nicknamed her 'Dandelion', then when she was shot by a fairy arrow and lost her memory, he tried to persuade her they were married (in real life, Del was married to a hobbit killed by Aragorn's forces.  The party didn't know this, and so now, neither does she).  Then they got caught in the Puzzle  Box Trap, where she was turned into a frog by a different trapped box.  After a few days she lost what little sense of self she had.  Elrood turned her back by kissing her - though for a while she still thought she was a frog.  And just as she realised she was a human, Sebrian bit her, turned her into a vampire, and she was sucked to Ravenloft.

Drake (undead 1166) (Indran)

Vampire (was human), Male, Aristocrat / Transmuter

Drake's a bit of an odd fish. He's got a queer accent - kind of Tursen - and knows nothing about the major events of the past twenty years.  He was sent out of time by a Chronomancer, 200 years ago.  After studying with Seferan for a short while, he too was captured, and is now a vampire in Ravenloft

The Tower in Torinfel was burnt down by Chronomancers wishing to find Drake and recover a stolen gun (firestick).

Eldrid d. (David)

Elf, Male, Wizard

Eldrid was an elf who worked for Sefaran.  He died by his own poisoned sword, after fumbling in a fight with Vortigan.  His body was delivered to the town guard of Wearmill, and a reward collected, as he was wanted for murder (He'd tried to avoid capture by disguising himself as a dark elf) at the time of his death.

Gandor (David)

Elf, Male, Fighter-Mage

David was a new addition to the campaign bringing Gandor to study with Seferan.  He's miraculously still alive... (Gandor, that is).

Kyar (Claire)
Human, Female, Wizard

A young genius, Kyar is a shy girl who lives under the shadow of a prophecy made before she was born - that she would be a great mage.

Relowl d. (Malcolm)

Half-Elf, Male, Fighter/Rogue/Wizard

Relowl was Kyar's older brother.  He knew nothing of grenades when he threw himself on top of one to  protect his sister and the party.  Time-travelling elves defeated him with their shoddy technology.

Te'ryus (Indran)

Human, Male, Runecaster

A runecaster from up north, Te'ryus saved Kyar's life when she was young, and is a good friend of hers and Relowl.

Tiriel (Ian)

Human, Female, Illusionist

Niece of the infamous Florimel.   She was sent to the Dwarven Birthrite ceremony to represent the School of Illusionists.  A quiet person, Tiriel amazingly travelled the Gruskan Mountains alone, unharmed.

The Watch Campaign

Players took on  the role of members of the Nyr'Danr City Watch, until a case of police brutality made it unsafe for them to stay and they relocated to Rew. Relying on a barking dog as evidence of malfeasance is not enough to justify breaking in to a property and killing the occupants. The group were (mostly) confident of the occupants' guilt and were met with an armed response so used deadly force. It transpired they had instead broken into a butcher's residence and killed him and his family when they tried to defend themselves against armed intruders. Ostracism was the watchmen's punishment.

Lieutenant Joseph Hellebush (Brother Joseph)  (Geoff)

Human, Male, Ranger

Led the investigation into Sir Hugo, leading to the traitor's death.

Caius Kaelson (Malcolm)

Mostly Human (partly undead?), Male, Bard

Raised in an orphanage in Nyr'Danr which was sponsored by Sir Kael, he grew up with tales of heroism and nobility ingrained in his soul. He chose to be a watchman to help rebuild and support his city. Now he's banished from there because he failed to stop his colleagues in their misjudged attack on an innocent family.

His first inclination that he wasn't normal came when he stood in front of Brother Joseph in their fight against undead creatures at Castle Beltaph. When Brother Joseph Turned Undead, Caius ran too. He reported his suspicions immediately trusting on the support and goodwill of his superiors. So far that has been rewarded. He has developed Darkvision and some Resistance to Non-Magical Damage.
